The Kirby Quilt

Our fabulous multi-talented gal in shipping, Bounmy, brought this adorable Kirby quilt in today made in various Clothworks fabrics…check it out!IMG_0780The design for this quilt comes from playing around with Nintendo game characters using a program on Bounmy’s iPad and coming up with 8 bit versions of the characters. The result is a cool pixelated design which can then be made into a quilt.
Bounmy recently opened her own Etsy shop to sell her surplus quilts, including this Kirby quilt…so check it out here!
Thanks for sharing, Bounmy, and Happy Quilting to all!

Boho Frock in Quilter's Selection!

Well, I’m in love. I’ve become obsessed with learning to make my own dresses and with one under my belt I’m on to the next dressmaking adventure. I saw this dress on Cheryl Kuczek using our Quilter’s Selection at Quilt Market, and silly me–I didn’t get a picture! Well Cheryl just happens to have one of the most lovely models in existence, our very own applique superstar and customer service goddess, Stephanie DiCola! Lucky for me Cheryl is local to Seattle so I hopped on over to one of her sewing nights, had a blast, and took the dress to work with me so Stephanie could model it and I could get this photo…quiltersselectiondress2quiltersselectiondress1Cheryl helped me get started on my very own Boho Frock dress using our Shades fabric (this one in particular). It’s all cut out and I start sewing next week. The cool thing about this pattern is that it’s highly customizeable. I am making the dress with short sleeves and at the midi length. Her cutting edge pattern techniques also allow you to get a great custom fit depending on your body shape. I can’t wait to show all of you once it’s finished!

In the mean time, check out Cheryl’s patterns and blog and get inspired–summer is here and it’s time to don your dresses and enjoy the summer breeze!
