  1. Well, this year we decided to raise meat birds and hens as a home school project and we are going to BBQ our first home ranged birds on the 4th with family. This will be the 2nd year in our home and we will be shooting off fireworks with our youngest and oldest son and the grand kids as well as with my mom.

  2. The 4th is always fun. We spend time during the day in our yard or at the park playing Frisbee with friends and have a BBQ. But the nighttime is spent trying to keep our dog from panicking. It’s a challenge. This year I also have to finish up a few sewing gift projects. Thanks & Happy 4th!

  3. This year we will be celebrating 100 years of Springfield’s 4th of July parade (Springfield, NY); made wall hangings for their annual quilt show.

  4. We will be watching Fireworks at Buckeye Lake on nephews pontoon boat. Or Red , White , and Boom ,Downtown Columbus Ohio .

  5. My 4th of July plans usually include a trip to our local festival, “Riverfest”, with music and food at a park on the Mississippi River, and fireworks at night. Thanks for the give away!

  6. This year is up in the air, we are sharing the grandkids with our ex-son-in-law so we won’t know until the last minute what he may do. As of now we have one of the kiddos. We will grill and make salads and desserts even if they don’t get to be with us. Either way someone will stop over, it’s always an open house here. I’ve been teaching them to sew and this would be great to make pot holders and bowl holders for the holidays.

  7. Probably going to do the same thing we always do. Take our dog and hope a few kids join us to enjoy the local church’s fireworks. Happy 4th to all !!

  8. This 4th of July will be a bit different for us. We have some friends coming in to help us celebrate the holiday and to help us pack up for our move at the end of the month. It should be a fun time with good friends.

  9. We’ve family coming to visit this year so I’m hoping to spend time at the pool, a nice BBQ dinner and fireworks but I also expect to find time for an afternoon nap. Love those afternoon naps when I can get them!

  10. The weekend will start on Thursday night by attending my monthly wool mat club @ a local shop. Then going to the hot air balloon festival to see the balloons glow in the dark (weather permitting of course). Then heading to my campgrounds for a wknd of fun w/the family and finishing my godson’s HS grad quilt gift while working inside the screen house and fireworks one day too.

  11. I am planning to spend a rather peaceful fourth of July with my best guy, DH. The children are all unable to be home so we will be on our own with the dog. a little sad but also nice to have time with my best friend!!

  12. Staying at home, sitting on the deck, maybe doing some hand stitching, watching the hubby do some grilling and watching fireworks

  13. My family gets together for all holidays and most weekends. We spend a lot of time together. One of my brother-in-laws BBQ’s. He recently received an electric bbq cooker. He was already a great cook but now the food is less hands on so he can spend more time relaxing with us and of course the food is great.

  14. I would love to win this prize to make à vintage apron for my sister to wear at her bbq competition, the American Royale, this Oct. In KC, KS. They had to win Grand Champion in a sanctioned event in 2013 to get into the American Royale so I think it deserves something special.

  15. We moved recently so are not well acquainted with the July 4th traditions in this town, so will sit on our front patio and hope we see some fireworks or a parade. Will probably eat hot dogs and watermelon.

  16. To honor this great country and those who serve, we will first, be hanging our US flag alongside that of the Cowboy State. We will be testing out a few new recipes on the grill; have you ever tried a ceasar salad kabob? As we are staying home so we can go camping with family later in the month, we’ll be preparing the camper. Menu planning for that trip including some Dutch Oven fun. Oh, and I plan on embroidering a label for a quilt project!

  17. My daughter and grandchildren just left after a month long visit. I will be resting and taking it easy. I’m tired from chasing after a 2, 5 and 7 year old. I loved having them but I am old and it takes a lot of energy to keep up.

  18. On the 4th of July, my family goes to our local celebration and volunteer at the Special Olympics booth for a couple of hours, and then go see the rest of the booths, Then we come home and do a cookout, and go to the fireworks display. Fairly simple day, but we love it.

  19. I’m going to spend my 4th with my daughter and future in-laws and of course our family! We will have a picnic and then some fireworks of course! Simple but it’s family and that is the best!

    • We’ll be gathering the family who travel from afar (Sweden) right on the 4th. Our lovely 4 yr old granddaughter, with her beautiful “Swede-lish” accent, will be arriving with her mom (our daughter) and her dad (the Swede). We will be waving American flags and have red-white-blue balloons. I’m sure the others at the airport international door will think it’s a foreign adoption coming through. Then we’ll head home for a bar-b-que and some fireworks, the all-American kind of celebration!!

  20. Watching the wheelchair athletes in the Peachtree Road Race. Inspiring!! Working in the quilting room later to prepare for upcoming projects. Grateful for all the amazing men and women who sacrifice everyday for our freedom.

  21. It will be a quiet one here but the parade is close and we can see fireworks out the window and company will be here the next day so all is good. Leaves more time for sewing!
