Our friend Heather of the blog Quilts in the Queue is hosting a Quilt Along for a good cause. This year, Heather is heading up the quilt drive, 100 Quilts for Kids 2014, a quilt drive with a simple mission- make a child’s quilt and donate it to a charity that serves children’s needs. Before giving your quilt away, snap a photo to share with others and a chance to win a prize.
In conjunction with this year’s 100 Quilts for Kids quilt drive, Heather has designed a really nifty quilt in which she will feature in a Quilt Along on her blog. With her modern aesthetic, as well as keeping in mind the target audience for the quilt design, Heather designed a pieced quilt with a simple chevron motif, using none other than…. American Made Brand solids!
In Heather’s quilt design, entitled the Waves Quilt Along (check out that nifty button she made pictured above), she incorporates vivid blue shades found in the vast selection of AMB solids into each chevron row, giving the quilt a bold & graphic look that’s equally pleasing to the eyes. Not only do the American Made Brand solids function well in Heather’s quilt design, but with what seems like the ever-increasing amount of production & manufacturing going offshore these days, Heather was very adamant about using a fabric that’s grown & produced right here in the U.S.of A! And Clothworks couldn’t be more pleased to support her cause by donating some American Made Brand solids, produced exclusively here in the USA, from ‘Farm to Fabric’. Sounds like a great match, right?!
Today marks the first day of Heather’s Quilt Along, so please do head over to her blog, Quilts in the Queue, if you’d like to follow along. Also check out her blog to find out more information about participating in the 100 Quilts for Kids quilt drive.
Heather’s so crafty, she’s even made a handy-dandy button (see above) to post on your site in support of 100 Quilts for Kids, as well!
