American Made Brand solids shine in this Maverick Star quilt made by Amanda Jean of Crazy Mom Quilts! In what began as a challenge for Amanda Jean to make one quilt block per day in the month of January, the end result is this visually-stunning, patriotic-inspired quilt. Head over to Amanda Jean’s fantastic blog, Crazy Mom Quilts, to learn more about her process & see more pics of her making this quilt. As she writes in her post, she enjoyed working with the American Made Brand solid fabrics by Clothworks, as they provided just the right hand in making this quilt come alive! What’s even better is that she plans to donate this beauty to the organization, Quilts of Valor, a charity that honors our veterans with heartwarming and handmade quilts! Right on!!

Headed to a LQS (local quilt shop) near you are 12 new colors of American Made Brand solids! It’s almost been one year since Clothworks debuted this basic collection of solid fabrics that are made strictly here in the USA! From farm to fabric, cotton seedling to woven dyed fabric on a bolt, all steps in the production process of American Made fabrics stay put right here in the USA, never leaving our shores. It’s been an exciting year for Clothworks, introducing 50 gorgeous American Made Brand solid colors to quilters, sewists, crafters, and fabric enthusiasts alike who are consciously making the decision to shop local and buy American made goods! With such continuous success, we’re thrilled to add 12 NEW COLORS of American Made Brand solids to the assortment this month, increasing the color palette to 62 colors now!

Winter is here, the holidays & new year have passed, so what’s there to look forward to….why, Valentine’s Day, of course! Our resident sewist Jean dropped by today with some adorable show-n-tell– these cute-as-a-button drawstring bags with contrast lining! With Jean’s keen eye for combining cute fabrics together, these bags show off 2 of Clothworks current collections- the Valentine-themed, All My Heart by Iron Orchid Designs, and the sweet tooth-inspired, Hey Cupcake by Dan DiPaolo.
Not only would these baggies make for wonderful re-usable treat bags for your Valentine’s sweetheart, but they’re functional too! With plenty of outer pocket space, these bags would make a great heartwarming gift for your favorite sewist/quilter/crafter, too!
Happy 2015! There’s nothing like ringing in the New Year….in a NEW BUILDING! Clothworks is up & running again, back to business after undertaking a smooth move from our former location in the Georgetown District of Seattle, WA. We are open for business in our new location at 6301 W Marginal Way SW; Seattle, WA 98106. Pictured above are the very FIRST customers to stop in to see the new warehouse: Ed & Jean Schlittenhart of Ed & Jean’s Quilt Shop located outside of Spokane, WA. Ed & Jean are holding some bolts that they purchased today– some of the newest Laurel Burch release, Embracing Horses. Our second customer of the day was Lorna, owner of Front Porch Quilts in Buckley, WA. She was too quick for me to snap a photo of her, but I heard she made out like a bandit with a healthy stack of some bolts of Unity by Leslie Mark Designs! We love seeing our local quilt shop customers stop in to see our new ‘digs’.
We’d like to thank all of our customers & followers for your support while we transition into our new building. Clothworks is now up & running, with the office & warehouse open for business for our wholesale accounts. Don’t be shy, please stop by & say hi….(and maybe stay a bit longer to shop the warehouse.) Our current Warehouse Hours are Monday- Friday 8 am – 4 pm.
