Still playing a little catch up from visiting Quilt Festival in Houston, TX last weekend. Took loads of pictures and plan to recap in some posts on the Works next week. In the meantime, before breaking for the weekend, here’s a lovely quilt spotted in the Fall 2015 edition of Fons and Porter’s Easy Quilts called ‘Quartet‘, designed by local quilter and our friend from the AMB Road Trip Blog Hop, Anita Peluso (aka Ms. Washington). If you look a little closer, the prints used in this eye-catching quilt design are from the Tree of Life fabric collection, designed by Sue Zipkin and released by Clothworks this past spring.
Head to your local quilt shop or favorite news stand to pick up a copy of the Fall 2015 edition of Easy Quilts. Filled with lots of inspiration and striking quilt projects appealing to all levels of quilters, what I love about this magazine are the easy step-by-step instructions and color-coded diagrams that help the visual learner in me complete challenging quilt projects.
For what might seem to appear as busy fabric prints used for these log cabin and half-triangle square blocks in ‘Quartet‘, quilt designer & inspirational blogger Anita Peluso makes wonderful use of the fabrics found in the Clothworks collection Tree of Life. Anita’s eye for color, placement, and design is well-executed to pull all of these colorful florals and tiny paisleys together to create a distinctly fresh & dazzling design in ‘Quartet’.
May your weekend be full of inspiration, and possibly a creative endeavor such as the ‘Quartet’ quilt. Stay tuned for a Quilt Festival recap next week on The Works!
