The Jelly Roll Jazz Giveaway is happening now through April 2, 2016. 3 winners will be randomly selected, and prizes include one free copy of the book Jelly Roll Jazz by Jean Ann Wright + precut 2.5″ strip rolls (as shown in the pic above). Clothworks is one of the proud sponsors of this exciting event and has graciously donated 2 strip rolls (20 strips each) to be part of one of the prizes awarded to a lucky winner! (See above in pic #3, two strip rolls from the Hummingbird Garden collection by Sadie).
Jelly Roll Jazz by quilt designer Jean Ann Wright looks like a nifty book for those quilters that enjoy working with precut strip rolls. Nine unique projects are featured in the book with step-by-step instructions and easy to read diagrams to make it a snap completing a project in just a weekend! Below is a sample of some of the quilt patterns featured:
Here’s some more sewing project inspiration made from the recent Clothworks release, Faithfully Yours by designer Barb Tourtillotte. Just in time for the spring & summer seasons, a beautiful tote bag that’s roomy enough to carry your purchases from the farmers market, or lug your towel, sunscreen, and book to the beach or pool! Our quilting friend Tina was so taken by this colorful fabric collection, she not only made a small quilt, but this practical tote bag, too!
The Newport Tote bag pattern by Lazy Girl Designs was used to make Tina’s bag with the Faithfully Yours fabric. An easy to follow pattern with color block features to mix & match coordinating fabric prints to create a unique, new look is further enhanced with an innovative handle design.
Style, function, and beautiful Clothworks fabric combine to make the ultimate tote bag! Thanks again Tina for sharing your creation with us.

Don’t forget to share your photos and fun on social media using the hashtag #WWQuiltingDay. Besides celebrating one of the best past times ever, as well as covorting with other kindred quilters, who knows, you might even have a chance to take part in a giveaway!

Our quilting friend, Tina, emailed this stunning pic of one of her recent creations using the new collection from Clothworks by Barb Tourtillotte called Faithfully Yours! Not only did Tina’s email brighten my day, but with the vibrant colors, gorgeous flowers, and inspirational sayings in the fabric prints in this collection, it gives me faith that Spring is just around the corner!
Tina followed no pattern to create this small pieced quilt top. She simply added one of the coordinating tonal prints in Faithfully Yours for the sashing around the block print blocks, then added two borders. Do you notice the yellow inner border fabric? I love how Tina used the paw prints from Dogs & Doggies by Laurel Burch. It works very nicely with the bright palette in the Faithfully Yours collection!
Well done, Tina! Thank you for sharing your project with us. Here’s hoping you feel sew inspired to create. Head to this link to find a local quilt shop that stocks Faithfully Yours today.
