Here is a collage of the current AMB Mystery Block 5 entries we’ve received so far.  There’s still a few days left until end of the month for those who’d love to share your block with us.  For a chance to win some great prizes, be sure to share photos by Friday September 30th of your finished Block 5 on Instagram with the tag #AMBmystery, or email your picture to: info at Clothworks dot com .  Thanks to all who have shared their blocks of  “Amongst the Trees”.

How’s the first month of fall winding down for you? Here at The Works the weather definitely says fall even though we still enjoy some warm afternoons. I always wonder what to cook on these days that feel like summer with a chilly evening chaser. Here’s one good answer: Rosemary Roast Chicken. The herbal notes say “sunshine” while the roast chicken part brings on the Cozy. Bonus: this dish comes together easily so you still have time to help with the homework or deadhead the flower garden while it bakes.

Cherry Mint is the first Clothworks fabric collection release for new Clothworks fabric designer, Reika Hunt.  So far, this fabric collection with the Japanese-inspired florals and a fresh, modern color scheme has proven to be a successful line with many skus nearly sold out.

Reika has been busy working on some samples and shared the following with us for further inspiration.

Reika created the bear and patchwork pillow using Cherry Mint, and followed the pattern called Triangle Jitters by Suzy Quilts for this lovely quilt.

Here are some more gorgeous accessories to make you feel pretty in the kitchen:

Reika made the apron and tea towel on her own and was inspired by the book, Hana Print no Patchwork by Patchwork Tsushinsha for the oven mitt design.

While working on the Amongst the Trees block, you might feel inspired to beautify your home with some woodsy crafts.  No, we do not have directions to make the adorable tree branch house pictured here, but who could resist this photo?  Instead, why not try some smaller scale crafts?  The sunburst mirror in this link would be gorgeous in a dining room all decorated for Thanksgiving.  Or maybe brighten up a darker corner of your home with the lighted branch art piece?

American Made Mystery BOM Quilt: Block 4 The Mountains Are Calling- Winners

Prizes Block 4

August is over, and now it’s time to select the winners for Block 4- The Mountains Are Calling.  Many thanks to all of you who shared their blocks-nice work!!  The prizes for this months’s challenge are shown in the pic above.

We received one final entry since posting all of the Block 4 submissions this past Monday.  Carolyn Walsh shared this photo of her block with me.  Carolyn wasn’t quite happy with her first attempt at Block 4 that she originally shared, so after a good night’s rest, with seams ripped out and new triangles replaced, Carolyn sent me her re-do of Block 4, as shown below.  Great job!!  Carolyn learned a lot while constructing Block 4, and now considers starch, her best friend! 🙂
