AMB Mystery BOM Quilt: Putting It All Together

blog_finalNow that all 9 blocks of the Our Land American Made Brand Mystery BOM Quilt have been revealed, it’s time to put them all together!

When we launched the AMB Mystery BOM series last spring, we gave suggestions for 2 unique color schemes using American Made Brand solid fabrics for piecing the blocks.  As Clothworks & American Made Brand are proud supporters of 2 charities, Quilts of Valor and Quilts for Kids, Inc., we thought the AMB Mystery Quilt was a perfect opportunity to make a quilt for each charity.

  1. I love both these versions. Each monthly block was so easy and unique. Thank you for giving them to us. Can’t wait for the next BOM from you. Keep up the great work.

  2. Hmmm. I think there is an error in the instructions for the QOV border stars. You can’t make flying geese with a 3.5 x 2 rectangle and 2.5 squares…. squares should be 2

    • Hi Mary,
Thank you for catching this in the instructions. I consulted with our quilt tester and she has confirmed that the square size should be 2″. Sorry for the confusion. We will work on posting updated instructions soon.

  3. I’ve gotten all fabrics to make this AMB Mystery BOM Quilt in the QOV color wave. The first 2 blocks have you make freezer paper templates and add 1/4″ for SA. Block 3 tells you to cut: from mint: (B) 1’x3′. Does this mean when they give you a size to cut that the seam allowance is within the cut? Hence the 1:x3: after sewn will be 1/2″x2.5″? I’m confused and hated to cut out Block 3, sew and end up too small. Thank you. Tonya

    • Hi Tonya,
Thank you for your question. For Block 3- Cut as per the cutting requirement and use a 1/4″ seam allowance when piecing (unless otherwise noted). So, yes, it means the seam allowance is within the cut. Let me know if you have further questions.
