Ring in 2018 with Frenchie Pop Quilt in AMB Solids featured in Quilty Magazine!

American Made Brand solid cottons by Clothworks make the front cover of the Jan/Feb 2018 issue of Quilty Magazine in the adorable ‘Frenchie Pop’ quilt!  What’s even more exciting is ‘Frenchie Pop’ was designed and made by me, Stephanie DiCola!  Inspired by French Bulldogs and the colorful art of Andy Warhol, I challenged myself to use all 75 colors in the AMB Solid cotton palette to make this wall-hanging sized quilt.

Dog lover or not, ‘Frenchie Pop’ is sure to win the hearts of many with its cheery, bright color arrangement.  The same French Bulldog applique is repeated in 9 blocks using a different color combination per block to create this eye-catching quilt.  Read how to make this quilt by picking up a copy of the Jan/Feb 2018 edition of Quilty at your favorite newsstand.  And stock up on American Made Brand solid cottons by visiting your local quilt shop (find a shop here)!

Adventures in Hexagons Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Welcome to Day 4 of the “Adventures in Hexagons” Blog Tour!  Clothworks is excited to promote our friend Emily Breclaw’s newest book, Adventures in Hexagons, released this year by C & T Publishing.   Emily, also known as the Caffeinated Quilter, has a passion for hexagon quilts!  Read about how her love affair with the hexagon quilt developed in her post on the C&T Publishing blog.

You may remember Emily from our American Made Brand License Plate Quilt Blog Tour a few years ago.   Emily was our Texas quilt blogger contributing a license plate block that captured the iconic Lone Star state flag with hexagons pieced to resemble the state flowers.

Emily’s passion for hexagon quilts continued to blossom through the years and now she has just published her first book filled with beautiful hexie quilt designs, clever techniques, and loads of inspiration! Clothworks is thrilled that 2 quilts included in Adventures in Hexagons were sampled using our Laurel Burch Basics.

AMB Mystery BOM Quilt: Correction to QOV Finishing Instructions

blog_final

Thank you to all the quilters out there who have been quilting along and sharing images of your finished blocks for the AMB Mystery Block of the Month Quilt called ‘Our Land’.  Now that the BOM series has completed, we’ve received some feedback on the quilt finishing portion.

For the Quilts of Valor version, a cutting error was found on the first page of the finishing instructions under QOV Border Stars. In the cutting instructions for the colors marked as ‘C’, please cut 2″ squares, not 2 ½” squares as previously listed.

We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration that this may have caused.

Follow this link for the updated Quilts of Valor finishing instructions.

The QOV finishing instructions have also been updated in the previous blog post here.

We’d love to see how you finish your AMB Mystery Quilt!  Please share pics of your finished quilts on Instagram with the tag #AMBMystery or email info at Clothworks dot com.

The vintage florals in Raspberry & Cream, the newest Clothworks release by Marsha McCloskey, receive a modern take in this bold, graphic quilt called Buckle Up, designed & made by Bev Getschel.

Spotted in McCall’s Quick Quilts April/May 2017 edition, Buckle Up showcases a big block with a large floral print from the Raspberry & Cream collection.  Red and Cream American Made Brand cotton solids tie together the multicolor floral prints, while forming the graphic ‘belt & buckle’ design.

AMB Mystery BOM Quilt: Putting It All Together

blog_finalNow that all 9 blocks of the Our Land American Made Brand Mystery BOM Quilt have been revealed, it’s time to put them all together!

When we launched the AMB Mystery BOM series last spring, we gave suggestions for 2 unique color schemes using American Made Brand solid fabrics for piecing the blocks.  As Clothworks & American Made Brand are proud supporters of 2 charities, Quilts of Valor and Quilts for Kids, Inc., we thought the AMB Mystery Quilt was a perfect opportunity to make a quilt for each charity.

For finishing instructions for the Quilts for Kids quilt, follow this link.
