Frou-Frou Quilt: Monday’s Washday in Quiltmaker Magazine

Spotted in the May/June 2017 issue of Quiltmaker magazine is this charming quilt featuring Frou-Frou fabrics and trims, Monday’s Washday, by Heidi Pridemore.  Clothworks has been exclusively distributing fabrics and trims from the French fabric company, Frou-Frou Fabrics, for nearly a year now.  Monday’s Washday, with its mix of playful applique and pinwheel block piecing, is the perfect quilt to showcase the star, dot, gingham, and floral prints that Frou-Frou is known for!  On a closer look, the button embellishment used for the flower designs even matches the fabrics, too!

Spotted in the April 2017 edition of American Patchwork & Quilting is a nifty office organizer project using the Clothworks fabric collection, Blue Porcelain, by designer Ellen Crimi-Trent.   Quilt tester, Laura Boehnke, made a color version using  Blue Porcelain for the project called Office Space, designed by AGF Studio. The original version is shown in the photo below.

Spotted in McCall’s Quick Quilts April/May 2017 edition, Buckle Up showcases a big block with a large floral print from the Raspberry & Cream collection.  Red and Cream American Made Brand cotton solids tie together the multicolor floral prints, while forming the graphic ‘belt & buckle’ design.

Fun Friday Show & Tell: Wild Figs Patchwork Tote

wild-figs-toteHalloween has come and gone, the election is over, and now we can look forward to the holidays.  The trees have lost their leaves and the ground is scattered with mounds of burnt oranges, rusty reds, and yellow ochres.  This must mean one thing….Autumn has arrived!

One of our multi-talented employees here at the Works, Debbie from Shipping., brought in this gorgeous patchwork totebag and I just had to share it with you.   Using fabrics from an older Clothworks release, the autumn-inspired Wild Figs by Karen Roti, Debbie churned out this beautiful bag in just one weekend!go-everywhere-bag-collageFlipping through an old edition of Fons & Porter’s Quilting Quickly from spring 2015, Debbie spotted the Go Everywhere Bag project and was inspired to create.  The magazine may be a back issue, but thank Fons & Porter for archiving it on their website here.  Follow this link for to download the pattern, and better yet, watch the free video tutorial for helpful construction tips!

Autumn is a upon us and my, what a quilt to feast your eyes on!  Clothworks fabric collection Fall Feast by designer Barb Tourtillotte is featured in the new edition of American Patchwork & Quilting, December 2016!  Quilt tester Laura Boehnke used the Fall Feast collection to make her version of Kate Colleran’s Paved in Color quilt.  The original version in solids is shown below.
