The Stitch & Switch Pillow design is so versatile, quilt tester Martha Gamm gave it a completely different feel with the nautical-inspired, navy blue & white color scheme using American Made Brand cotton solids, as shown below.

American Made Brand solid cottons by Clothworks make the front cover of the Jan/Feb 2018 issue of Quilty Magazine in the adorable ‘Frenchie Pop’ quilt! What’s even more exciting is ‘Frenchie Pop’ was designed and made by me, Stephanie DiCola! Inspired by French Bulldogs and the colorful art of Andy Warhol, I challenged myself to use all 75 colors in the AMB Solid cotton palette to make this wall-hanging sized quilt.
Dog lover or not, ‘Frenchie Pop’ is sure to win the hearts of many with its cheery, bright color arrangement. The same French Bulldog applique is repeated in 9 blocks using a different color combination per block to create this eye-catching quilt. Clothworks’ Fresh Batiks® are featured in 2 quilting magazines that just shipped! Labyrinth by Janice Averill is sampled in vibrant and cool watercolor Fresh Batiks® Minerals in purples, blues and greens. Her quilt is featured in the Fall issue of Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks. Constructed from Flying Geese blocks, there is a handy tutorial under the Basic Lessons portion of the magazine offering an easy tutorial on how to quickly piece Flying Geese blocks.
Clothworks’ Fresh Batiks® are also featured in the October issue of American Patchwork & Quilting® magazine. Quilt tester Laura Boehnke combined these striking colors from the Fresh Batiks® Minerals and Botanica collections to create a single star design.
Laura’s color option is based on a full quilt called Rock Star by Tonya Alexander (shown below).
Rock Star uses contrasting color palettes to showcase the stars formed by the rail fence piecing, making Clothworks’ Fresh Batiks® the perfect fabric choice.
Pick up the October 2017 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting® at your favorite quilt shop through early October. Visit American Patchwork & Quilting online for more quilting inspiration, too!

Welcome to Day 4 of the “Adventures in Hexagons” Blog Tour! Clothworks is excited to promote our friend Emily Breclaw’s newest book, Adventures in Hexagons, released this year by C & T Publishing. Emily, also known as the Caffeinated Quilter, has a passion for hexagon quilts! Read about how her love affair with the hexagon quilt developed in her post on the C&T Publishing blog.
You may remember Emily from our American Made Brand License Plate Quilt Blog Tour a few years ago. Emily was our Texas quilt blogger contributing a license plate block that captured the iconic Lone Star state flag with hexagons pieced to resemble the state flowers.
Emily’s passion for hexagon quilts continued to blossom through the years and now she has just published her first book filled with beautiful hexie quilt designs, clever techniques, and loads of inspiration! Clothworks is thrilled that 2 quilts included in Adventures in Hexagons were sampled using our Laurel Burch Basics.
