Frou-Frou to Premiere at LQS this Weekend!

FrouFrou - 1-2-3 Voila

The newest addition to the Clothworks product line, Frou-Frou, will be debuting at a LQS (local quilt shop) this Saturday, August 6th.  If you’re lucky to be near Chelan, WA, head over to Woven Threads Quilt Store for an ‘evening in Paris’ as our Clothworks representative, Angela, will debut the fabrics, trims, and notions from this exclusive French brand!

Clothworks was thrilled to introduce Frou-Frou at their booth during Spring Quilt Market this past year.  So far, we’ve received a lot of interest in Frou-Frou and have started shipping this exquisite line of color-coordinating fabrics & trims from France to our customers scattered across the USA.  Besides the matching fabrics, trims, and notions, Frou-Frou also offers easy-to-make clothing and accessory patterns–making it a no-brainer for the modern sewist who is pressed for time, but passionate about creating something cute and DIY.

Head to your LQS to inquire about Frou-Frou.  And mark your calendar for Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at 6-8pm (PDT) to attend the Frou-Frou event hosted by Angela from Clothworks at Woven Threads Quilt Store in Chelan, WA.  Oh-la-la!

Hey Cupcake Takes the Cake at LQS Shop Hop

The calendar may say Friday the 13th today, but tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and boy, what a treat do I have for you!  Spotted on the Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe blog, ‘Boughs of Holly’, are these scrumptious cupcakes……and not just the ones made of sugary sweet cake batter and icing!  Check out the ridiculously ‘adorbs’ table runner and quilted square featuring the Clothworks fabric Hey Cupcake by designer Dan DiPaolo.

Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe, a LQS near Portland, OR, has been a longtime Clothworks customer and is prominently featuring the Hey Cupcake collection for their Snowflakes & Stitches Shop Hop.  Although the Shop Hop started February 7th, there’s still time left to enjoy it as it runs through February 21st.  If you live near the area, or this happens to be your LQS, do stop by!  Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe definitely took the cupcake theme and ran with it as you can see in these beautiful pics!!

And do you recognize these fabrics below in the Shop Hop Block by Hollyhill QS??!!  How genius to use Clothworks Laurel Burch Basic glitter for the frosty icing on the cupcake?!!!!  (Complete with sprinkled seed beads too!!!)  So sweet……I think I can almost taste it!

For more details, head over to Boughs of Holly to read the enthusiastically-written blog and see more fabric yumminess!

Embracing Inspiration: It’s found in the Bag!

Bag Collage

I wish I could take credit for putting together this adorable bag sample as pictured here!  Cindy from Kingston Quilt Shop, a local quilt shop in the area, put her ‘sewing goddess’ skills to good use and created this gorgeous sample made from the newest Laurel Burch release, Embracing Horses by Clothworks.  Her thoughtful pairing of fabrics- the teal batik from Clothworks Fresh Batik Minerals collection combined with the prints from Embracing Horses, really are quite stunning!  The horses almost take on a ‘camouflage’ look if you blur your eyes a little.

Cindy used the Sweet Pea Everday Totebag pattern by Kati Cupcake Patterns to create her sample version.

This sweet little pattern transcends into something chic when it’s made up in a sophisticated fabric such as the jewel-toned teal colorway of Laurel Burch’s Embracing Horses!  And the details really make it!!  Just take a look at the close-up pic below.  Cindy is quite proud of the fabric covered button so cleverly fussy-cut to show the horse’s cute face:

Well done, Cindy!!  Every bit of this bag sample is beautiful, right down to the stitching!  After admiring your gorgeous work, I’m inspired to create!

What about you?  Have you seen any samples lately in your LQS (local quilt shop) that have moved you to create?  We’d love to know!

Or maybe you’re a local quilt shop that has some fun show and tell to share with us!  Send your pics to stephanie at clothworks dot com!
