Clothworks was thrilled to introduce Frou-Frou at their booth during Spring Quilt Market this past year. So far, we’ve received a lot of interest in Frou-Frou and have started shipping this exquisite line of color-coordinating fabrics & trims from France to our customers scattered across the USA. Besides the matching fabrics, trims, and notions, Frou-Frou also offers easy-to-make clothing and accessory patterns–making it a no-brainer for the modern sewist who is pressed for time, but passionate about creating something cute and DIY.
Head to your LQS to inquire about Frou-Frou. And mark your calendar for Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at 6-8pm (PDT) to attend the Frou-Frou event hosted by Angela from Clothworks at Woven Threads Quilt Store in Chelan, WA. Oh-la-la!
Today marks the First Day of Spring with a solar eclipse and a super moon, to boot! With stars & planets aligned, it’s no wonder tomorrow, Saturday March 21st, 2015 is Worldwide Quilting Day!
Head down to a LQS (local quilt shop) near you to celebrate your love of quilting, hobnob with quilting friends, and check out the fresh crop of fabrics your favorite shop has to offer. Follow this link to see which shops are participating in the official Worldwide Quilting Day festivities.
Tomorrow’s Worldwide Quilting Day festivities will include a giveaway and contest. Clothworks’ fellow Seattle-based fabric manufacture, In The Beginning, will be sponsoring a wall hanging pattern giveaway. And for those up for a block challenge, the Star Block Challenge which begins in conjunction with Worldwide Quilting Day on March 21, will extend through April 21, 2015. Head to this link to read the details on contest entry, as well as the chance to win a Sewing Machine and $500 Shopping Spree at the participating shop in the contest.
And do you recognize these fabrics below in the Shop Hop Block by Hollyhill QS??!! How genius to use ClothworksLaurel Burch Basic glitter for the frosty icing on the cupcake?!!!! (Complete with sprinkled seed beads too!!!) So sweet……I think I can almost taste it!
I wish I could take credit for putting together this adorable bag sample as pictured here! Cindy from Kingston Quilt Shop, a local quilt shop in the area, put her ‘sewing goddess’ skills to good use and created this gorgeous sample made from the newest Laurel Burch release, Embracing Horses by Clothworks. Her thoughtful pairing of fabrics- the teal batik from Clothworks Fresh Batik Minerals collection combined with the prints from Embracing Horses, really are quite stunning! The horses almost take on a ‘camouflage’ look if you blur your eyes a little.
This sweet little pattern transcends into something chic when it’s made up in a sophisticated fabric such as the jewel-toned teal colorway of Laurel Burch’s Embracing Horses! And the details really make it!! Just take a look at the close-up pic below. Cindy is quite proud of the fabric covered button so cleverly fussy-cut to show the horse’s cute face:
Well done, Cindy!! Every bit of this bag sample is beautiful, right down to the stitching! After admiring your gorgeous work, I’m inspired to create!
What about you? Have you seen any samples lately in your LQS (local quilt shop) that have moved you to create? We’d love to know!
Or maybe you’re a local quilt shop that has some fun show and tell to share with us! Send your pics to stephanie at clothworks dot com!
