AMB Solids Make the Cover Quilt on Modern Quilts Unlimited Issue #21!

American Made Brand cotton solids are featured in the newest issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited Magazine and even on the front cover!   Cityscape, by designer Gyleen X. Fitzgerald, makes exquisite use of the AMB solids neutral color palette in this lap-size quilt pieced with 2 ½” strips.  For added drama, a thin strip in a neutral floral print accents the AMB solid strips in this stunning diamond block design.

Head to your local quilt shop to stock up on American Made Brand solid cottons, and pick up Issue #21 of Modern Quilts Unlimited Magazine at your favorite newsstand.  Follow step-by-step instructions and special sewing techniques to make your very own version of Cityscape.

Show & Tell: AMB Solids in ‘Referenced Materials’ Quilt

img_5786Jill & Marny, designers for Modern Quilt Relish, an independent quilt pattern design company, recently shared these pics of their newest creation made from American Made Brand solid cottons.  Their exquisite quilt, entitled ‘Referenced Materials’, was just installed at the Ames Public Library in Ames, Iowa in honor of a new renovation.  This quilt was specifically designed for the new space.

img_5787 What a truly stunning piece of artwork, and an honor to see the gorgeous solid cottons from the American Made Brand palette used in this creation!  In keeping with their modern aesthetic, Jill & Marny’s quilt, ‘Referenced Materials’ , is an exercise in minimalism with a mix of the unexpected!  Read more about the quilt installation process, as well as view more breathtaking photos of this beautiful work of art on the Modern Quilt Relish blog.  And be sure to poke around a bit on their blog to see their nifty quilt patterns, too!

Road to California Quilt Show Highlights

R2C AMB Booth

Last week, American Made Brand made its first showing at the Road to California Quilt Show at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California.  The experience was a positive one–connecting with quilters, quilt shop owners, long arm folks, and other crafty people, to continue promoting American Made Brand fabric– a 100% cotton that’s not just made here, but grown here in the USA, too!

Swatches and postcard R2C

Most of the folks who visited our booth left with some American Made Brand teaser packs (shown above) in array of solid colors.  But it wasn’t just the goodies that drew people to our booth.  Our display of quilt samples made up in the vibrant, saturated colors of American Made Brand fabric enticed many onlookers into the booth to get an up close view.

AMB Flag Selfie

The artistic interpretation of this American Flag quilt, ‘Flying High’ by Joined at the Hip, brought many people to our booth, either to take pictures of the quilt itself, or to take a selfie with it, such as this lovely lady decked out in matching patriotic fare.

Robin Ruth

Even quilt designer Robin Ruth and her mother made a visit to the AMB booth to pose with Robin’s spectacular Mariner’s Compass quilt in American Made Brand fabrics!

Tiny Quilt= Full Exhibit

Besides our booth display, American Made Brand was thrilled to also debut the Tiny Quilt Challenge exhibit at Road to California, as well!  See prior post for more pictures, including the Grand Prize Winner of the challenge.

R2C Shop Display Collage

Road to California was a busy show for us, but I managed to spot American Made Brand in these displays at The Sew N Sew and Carriage Country Quilts!

Being in Southern California in January was not so bad.  Especially with a pretty view like this.

It was paradise on the outside……and on the inside!
